How to run the WordPress page speed tester

To run a speed test, you will need to insert your URL address, and choose “Run Test”. The location is automatically chosen from the nearest point and will take less than 60 seconds for our page speed tool to analyze your results.

For measuring the average page speed of your WordPress website, you can run multiple reports, and save the results. 

You can save each report’s results, as they will not be retained on our website, nor shared in marketing data.

Metrics that matter for Core Web Vitals

Upon receiving the test results, a set of results will be shown with the following:

First Contentful Paint (FCP) – The first paint element, which indicates when the HTML element is displayed. Contributes to User experience (UX).

Speed Index (SI) – Provides the average rendering speed of a web page, which directly contributes to User Experience (UX), and is measured by your hosting provider’s server speed.

Time To Interactive (TTI) – Indicates the time taken to paint content, and allow users to interact with it. It’s not a direct CWV metric but is highly important for UX. 

First Meaningful Paint (FMP) 

Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) – Contributes to Core Web Vitals (CWV). Aim to score below 2,5 seconds for the best results. Anything above 2,5 seconds will result in need of improvement.

Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) – Contributes to Core Web Vitals (CWV). Aim to score at least or less than 0,1 sec. Anything above the result will result in the need for improvement.
